Skillogalee Basket Pressed The Cabernets draws from hand pruned and handpicked estate vines, sited at approximately 450 metres elevation in the Clare Valley.
The wine is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Malbec and Cabernet Franc. It is vinified in open fermenters then basket pressed.
Malolactic fermentation takes place in oak hogsheads, mostly French, followed by 24 months of maturation. The separate components are then blended and bottled.
Dark red, Skillogalee Basket Pressed The Cabernets is medium bodied with fine tannins and a natural acid backbone. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
